What is Clash Royale?

Clash Royale is a real-time strategy card game from Supercell. Two players face off in an arena, each with three towers. You build a deck of eight cards featuring troops, spells and buildings from the Clash universe, spend elixir to play them, and try to destroy more of your opponent's towers than they destroy of yours within three minutes.

The game launched globally in March 2016 and has passed 500 million downloads on Google Play. It's one of the strategy games we list, alongside Supercell's Clash of Clans.

Real-time battles

Elixir fills up over time, and each card costs a set amount. The skill is in timing: defending efficiently, then counter-pushing when your opponent has spent their elixir.

Deck building

There are more than 100 cards across Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Champion rarities. A good deck has a win condition (like Hog Rider or Giant), support troops, defensive options and spells.

Evolutions

Evolved cards gain a powerful extra ability after you cycle them a set number of times. Unlocking and choosing Evolutions is a big part of the modern game.

Trophy Road and Ranked

Climb arenas by winning trophies, then compete in Ranked for seasonal rewards.

Clans and Clan Wars

Join a clan to request and donate cards, chat, and battle together in Clan Wars.

Events and challenges

Special modes like draft, double elixir and mirror matches rotate regularly, with rewards for good runs.

Tips for new players

• Learn the elixir trade. Use cheap cards to counter expensive ones and you'll get an elixir lead.
• Don't play first at the start. Let your opponent commit, then respond.
• Know your win condition. Every push should support the card that actually damages towers.
• Keep a balanced deck. Include something to stop air units and something to deal with swarms.
• Use a deck you can upgrade. Focusing upgrades on one deck beats spreading resources thin.
• Watch replays. Losses show you which cards your deck struggles against.

How to install Clash Royale APK on Android

The easiest option is Clash Royale on Google Play.

1. Check that your phone runs Android 7.0 or newer.
2. Open Google Play, search for Clash Royale, and make sure the developer is Supercell.
3. Tap Install, then open the game.
4. Sign in or link an account in the game's settings, so your progress is saved if you change phones.
