How to rotate or flip an image
- Tap Choose images or drag your files onto the box. You can add several.
- Choose a rotation: 90° clockwise, 180° or 90° counter-clockwise.
- Tick Flip horizontally to mirror the image, or Flip vertically to turn it upside down.
- Tap Rotate / flip and download the results.
Each image keeps its original format: JPG stays JPG, WebP stays WebP and other formats are saved as PNG.
Why photos end up sideways
Phone cameras don't always rotate the actual pixels when you turn the phone. Instead, they store the picture as taken and add an orientation tag (EXIF) telling apps how to display it. Most phone galleries respect the tag, but some websites, email apps and older programs ignore it, so the photo appears sideways.
Rotating the image here "bakes in" the correct orientation, so it looks right everywhere. Because the tool re-saves the image without the old orientation tag, the result can't be rotated again by an app reading stale metadata.
Mirrored selfies
Many phones save front-camera selfies mirrored, the way you see yourself in the preview. That's why text on a T-shirt or sign reads backwards. Choose Don't rotate and tick Flip horizontally to fix it.
Rotation and quality
Rotating by 90° or 180° moves pixels exactly, without blurring. JPG and WebP files are re-encoded when saved, so keep the quality slider at 90% or above to avoid visible compression. PNG output is lossless.
Rotating many images
If you have a batch of photos that are all sideways the same way, for example from a scanner or a document camera, add them all at once and rotate them together.
